John Cowart is the Head of Global Subsidiary Coverage, China overseeing a team of relationship managers covering the subsidiary businesses of our global clients.
Based in Shanghai, John and his team work closely with Global and Regional relationship managers to ensure the bank is strategically positioned in China and is able to leverage broader client relationships to promote Global Transaction Banking and Global Markets products that meet the needs of complex treasury organizations. Charged with developing the overall GSC coverage strategy in China, John leads RMs who partner with Product Sales in developing efficient treasury solutions that use the latest in treasury technology and leverage changes in the regulatory environment that benefit today’s complex corporations that participate in the global marketplace. John also plays an active leadership role in the credit process and works closely with Deutsche Bank’s global and local credit teams along with Global Relationship Mangers (GRM) to allocate and extend credit for the full spectrum of financial services including working capital facilities, trade finance structuring, term loans, FX and Interest Rate derivative products. Before moving to Shanghai, John was a New York based Global Relationship Manager in the Diversified Industrials space covering the banks largest relationships. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2007, John spent five years at JPMorgan in their Treasury Solutions group and prior to that he was with Citigroup’s syndicated loan investor reporting group altogether resulting in over twenty years of financial services experience.
John has a Master’s of Business Administration from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Florida. He also has his FINRA Series 24, 63, 79 licenses and is a Certified Treasury Professional.
