Jonathan co-founded WorldFirst in 2004 inspired by his experiences in FX at Citibank and RBS. He wanted to do more to help individuals and small businesses to access the same products, rates and services that were available to big businesses when moving money around the world. Jonathan has led WorldFirst from day one, overseeing a period of sustained growth and profitability. WorldFirst has over 600 people across 7 global offices and has transferred more than £70bn for over 160,000 clients.
In 2012 Jonathan invited Sir David Clementi, a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England and current Chairman of the BBC, to come on board as Chairman. Under Jonathan’s capable leadership, WorldFirst won the second of two coveted Queens Awards’ for Enterprise for International Trade in 2015. WorldFirst’s vision is to build the world’s best platform for international trade and in 2017 launched the World Account, a new multi-currency platform for global businesses, in Europe and extended it to China earlier this year.
Jonathan holds a degree in Law & Accountancy from the University of Edinburgh. He is passionate in international trade, frictionless technologies and helping start-ups scale up through advisory and funding.
