Katherine is a member of the Innovate leadership team, and a Manager at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) leading strategic firm engagement and the Advice Unit. She plays a lead role in developing the FCA’s approach to innovation and harnessing lesson learned from the firm’s experiences in the Sandbox and the broader Innovate services to ensure the FCA remains at the forefront of global regulation in FinTech.
She was appointed to her current role in April, and has worked at the FCA and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) since 2012. Katherine’s previous roles at the FCA/FSA were in supervision, where she managed a team of insurance supervisors, and lead thematic work across the insurance sector.
Before joining the FSA, Katherine worked in various regulatory and risk roles in financial services. During that time, she operated across a variety of retail product areas spanning pensions, investments, insurance, mortgages and banking; and covered a wide range of activities such as financial promotions and disclosure, product design, suitability, and governance.
